Two Police Officers Injured in Chicago Car Accident

Two Chicago police officers were injured last Thursday night in a hit and run car accident on the city’s west side. The Chicago car crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of South Lawndale Ave. and West Roosevelt Rd. According to reports, the at-fault driver fled the scene of the car crash and no description of the vehicle is currently available. The officers were both on patrol and inside their squad car at the time of the accident. They were assigned to the Ogden District according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department reported that one officer was taken to Stroger Hospital while the other was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. Both were reportedly admitted in serious to critical condition. Specific information regarding the present condition of the Chicago police officers is mostly unavailable, however, preliminary information indicates that the injuries were not life threatening. Information regarding the driver that caused the Chicago car accident remains unavailable as the accident is still under investigation.
