Three individuals were seriously injured in a suburban Chicago car accident yesterday in Lockport, IL. The two vehicle Illinois car crash occurred on Archer Ave. at the intersection of 144th St. in Lockport, IL. According to reports, a 1991 box truck being operated by a Chicago man attempted to make a U-Turn onto northbound Archer Ave. near the 114th St. intersection when it was struck by a 1989 GMC pickup truck. The GMC pickup truck was being driven by a Lockport woman and had been travelling southbound behind the box truck on Archer. Police have indicated that attempting a U-Turn at the location of the Chicago car accident is illegal as it impedes traffic.
The GMC truck had a Lockport woman driver and a male passenger, also from Lockport. The driver of the box truck and both the Lockport male and female each suffered serious injuries as a result of the Chicago area car accident. All three were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL, for treatment of their injuries. The suburban Chicago car accident is still being investigated by local authorities.
