A Chicago teen was killed on Tuesday night following a motor vehicle accident with a police vehicle. The fatal Chicago car crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 95th St. and Central Park Avenue in Evergreen Park, IL. According to reports, the police vehicle was eastbound on 95th St. pursuing another vehicle when it collided with the victim’s vehicle which was attempting to make a left turn onto westbound 95th St. from Central Park Ave. The speed of the officer’s vehicle remains unknown as do facts related to whether the emergency equipment was activated at the time of the crash.
The victim, an 18 year old Chicago resident, was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL, at 11:50 p.m. The Cook County Medical Examiner has ruled the death accidental and determined that alcohol did not play a role in the tragic car crash. Police have indicated that they will review tapes from the squad car in an effort to determine how the tragic accident occurred. Accident reconstruction specialists closed traffic both ways on 95th St. early Wednesday morning for investigative purposes.
