Suburban Chicago Hit and Run Driver Kills Pedestrian
A Chicago area hit and run accident claimed the life of a suburban woman earlier this
week in North Aurora, IL. The fatal crash occurred early on Monday October 25, 2010,
near 42 S. Grant St. in the town of North Aurora, IL. According to reports, the driver of
a southbound van on Grant St. struck two individuals that were standing near a parked
car on the street. The van allegedly clipped the parked car before striking two pedestrians
that were standing in front of the parked car. The parked car belonged to one of the
Chicago car accident victims. The driver of the van reportedly fled the scene of the
accident immediately after striking the two Chicago car accident victims. The at-fault
driver turned himself in to the North Aurora Police Department at 5:01 a.m. the next day
The two car accident victims were discovered lying on the pavement near the scene of
the crash. Emergency personnel took the injured pedestrians to Provena Mercy Center
Hospital in Aurora, IL, where one of the victims was pronounced dead. The other
Chicago car crash victim was treated for unspecified injuries at the same hospital. The
Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and North Aurora Police Department have
joined to investigate the fatal Chicago car crash. No charges have been filed against the
driver responsible for the crash.
